Guide students to use trusted websites such as state government pages, museums, or educational databases. Explain why reliable sources matter so their facts are accurate and trustworthy.
Show students how to jot down main ideas and short facts as they research. Demonstrate using bulleted lists or graphic organizers for clear, organized notes.

Offer tips on using details and color to make drawings that match each fact. Remind students to think about which scene or object best shows their fact visually.
Nevada is full of surprises! Did you know it was the first state to approve the Fifth Amendment, letting everyone vote? Hard hats were invented for Hoover Dam workers here, and many believe Area 51 is home to UFO sightings. Plus, people in Nevada eat more shellfish than any other state!
Engage students by having them create a 3-cell storyboard illustrating fun facts about Nevada. They can research, write summaries, and draw scenes for each fact, making learning interactive and memorable.
A storyboard activity involves students making a 3-panel comic strip, each showing one fun fact about Nevada. Students write a heading, short description, and add an illustration for each panel to showcase what they’ve learned.
Area 51 is famous because many believe UFOs and aliens have been spotted there. It’s a secretive Air Force base that attracts tourists and sparks curiosity about outer space.
First, students pick three fun facts about Nevada. Next, they write a heading and a short summary for each. Then, they draw an illustration for every fact, and finally, save and share their 3-cell storyboard.
